Nik completed a large scale implementation project for us using a combination of onsite and offsite work. To enable offsite work we were able to give him a staff type Active Directory profile and as such, use our university systems (Virtual Desktop and Any Connect in combination with Remote Desktop) to enable secure access to our iTrent applications.
We also ensured that, as a contractor, Nik signed an oath of confidentiality over and above his contractual arrangements with us regarding access to data. With other contractors in the past we have also taken the steps to develop a function access specifically for a particular project piece. For instance, removing access to payroll where clearly not required to deliver project requirements for recruitment.
By using an offsite methodology in this secure way we were able to minimise cost of consultancy by removing subsistence costs and hence use budget for activity rather than expenses.
